Understanding how direct billing works for dental care can greatly reduce the stress of managing dental expenses. As a Calgary family dental practice, we offer direct billing for most major insurance plans and accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), making it easier for you to access the care you need without financial surprises.

What Is Direct Billing and How Does It Work?

Direct billing means we submit your dental claim directly to your insurer on your behalf. By handling the paperwork for most major insurance plans, you only pay your portion at the end of your appointment. There are no upfront payments, confusing forms, or waiting for reimbursements.

All you need to do is bring your insurance card or, if you're a CDCP patient, your member card, and we take care of the rest.

Coverage Discussions and Transparent Costs

We verify your dental benefits ahead of time whenever possible and clearly explain your options and estimated costs before you begin treatment. If you have questions about what is included in your coverage or how CDCP applies to your treatments, our team discusses this with you as part of your appointment. You are always welcome to call us at 403-244-1124, and we will check your specific coverage directly with your provider.

Which Insurance Plans Do We Direct Bill?

We work with most of Canada's largest dental insurers, including Sun Life Financial, Canada Life, Manulife, Blue Cross (AB), Green Shield Canada, Desjardins, SSQ Insurance, Equitable Life, Johnson Inc., RWAM Insurance, and Pacific Blue Cross. If you don’t see your insurer listed, contact us and we will check if we can process your claim.

How We Support Patients with the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

For eligible patients, we accept and direct-bill CDCP to Sun Life, the plan administrator. Just bring your member card to your appointment and you will pay only your co-payment or for any services not covered by CDCP. We always explain what is covered and any expected costs before proceeding with treatment. This helps eliminate billing surprises and makes dental care more accessible for Calgary residents.

What Types of Dental Care Are Included?

Direct billing and CDCP acceptance apply to a wide range of dental services including general, family, children’s, cosmetic, restorative, emergency, preventive, and orthodontic care. Most children’s exams, cleanings, and preventive care are eligible for direct billing under many plans and through CDCP if applicable.

Financial Accessibility: 0% Interest Financing

If you have questions about financing, our team is happy to discuss options during your visit or by phone.

Preparing for Your Visit

To make your visit easy and efficient, bring your insurance card, photo ID, a list of any current medications, previous dental X-rays if available, and your CDCP member card if you are covered. If you are unsure about what to bring, call our office, we are happy to help.

Our multilingual team speaks English, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, so we can explain your options clearly. We're open six days a week, with extended hours on some days, making it easy to fit dental care into your family’s schedule.

Extra Patient Benefits and Clinic Amenities

All new patients receive a complimentary whitening kit or electric toothbrush after their first visit. We offer free parking in the lot north of the building, accessible from 15th Street SW, so you don’t need to worry about downtown parking. We also reserve same-day emergency appointments every day if urgent care is needed.
